Building the future

We were contracted to design, supply, and install a custom external staircase to the rear of a residential property in Edinburgh.

Our work began with the safe removal and recycling of the existing staircase, which had fallen into disrepair. A local builder was then appointed to construct the new foundations, ensuring a stable base for the replacement structure.

Once the site was prepared, we carried out an accurate on-site survey and developed a detailed 3D model and fabrication drawings for client review and approval. Following approval, the project was handed over to our in-house fabrication team, who produced the bespoke staircase in our workshop.

The curved nature of the design presented a unique challenge during fabrication. Achieving the precise curves required a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, particularly in ensuring the geometry of the stair treads and risers aligned perfectly. Our team worked meticulously, using advanced techniques and tools to achieve the exact curvature required.

The Result

Before finishing, the full stair was pre-assembled and checked for accuracy, ensuring a perfect fit on-site. It was then dismantled and sent to Highland Colours for galvanising and powder coating, providing a durable and high-quality finish.

Finally, our installation team carefully transported the completed stair through the property and installed it in its final position. The result is a robust, visually striking staircase that complements the property beautifully — and another satisfied client.
