Structural Steel Package, Tonnage: 63t

We were contracted to supply and install 63 tonnes of structural steel for the main frame of a new, modern house located in the scenic coastal town of Earlsferry, Scotland.

Our in-house draughting team used Tekla software to create an accurate 3D model based on the architect’s and engineer’s specifications. We worked closely with a third-party engineer who designed all the steel connections for the project, which we integrated into the model. After finalizing the design, we produced detailed fabrication drawings and sent them, along with all the engineered connections, to the design team for approval.

Once the designs were signed off, the steel fabrication process began. We ordered the necessary materials, and our fabrication team carefully cut, welded, and assembled all beams and plates. In-house, we painted the steel to meet project specifications, with some members sent off for galvanizing for added durability.

The Result

All materials were delivered to site, where our erection team carefully installed the steel frame. The steel was meticulously lined, leveled, and signed off, ensuring the structure was square, plumb, and aligned to the highest standards.

This project presented several challenges, but the successful completion and the client’s satisfaction make it another project we are incredibly proud of.
