Building the future

Structural Steel Package & Spiral Stair, Tonnage: 30t

We were contracted to supply and install 30 tonnes of structural steel for the main frame of a new, modern house at Ginglet Farm, Stenton, East Lothian. The project was completed in three main phases: Phase 1 focused on the structural steel frame, Phase 2 involved the fabrication and installation of a spiral staircase and its support frame, and Phase 3 addressed the remaining structural steel required to integrate the new build with the existing old bungalow.

Our in-house draughting team used Tekla software to create an accurate 3D model, based on the architect’s and engineer’s specifications. We collaborated closely with a third-party engineer who designed all the steel connections for the project, which we integrated into our model. After finalizing the design, we produced detailed fabrication drawings and submitted them, along with all engineered connection details, to the design team for approval.

Once the designs were signed off, the steel fabrication process began. We ordered the necessary materials, and our fabrication team carefully cut, welded, and assembled all beams and plates. To meet project specifications, the steel was painted in-house, and some components were sent for galvanizing to ensure long-lasting durability.
