Commercial Structural Steel Package, Tonnage: 53t
We were contracted to supply and install 53 tonnes of structural steel for the construction of a new commercial facility at Broomieknowe Golf Club in Bonnyrigg. This development was part of the club’s ongoing expansion to provide improved amenities and services for its members.
Our in-house draughting team used Tekla software to produce an accurate 3D model based on the architect’s and engineer’s specifications. We worked alongside a third-party engineer, who designed all the steel connections for the project, integrating their designs into our model. After finalizing the design, we produced comprehensive fabrication drawings, which were sent to the client’s design team for approval.
Once the designs were signed off, we moved forward with fabrication. The steel was ordered and processed in-house, where our team carefully cut, welded, and assembled all beams and plates. To meet the project’s durability requirements, some steel components were galvanized, while others were painted in-house to match the desired finish.

The Result
Upon completion of fabrication, all materials were delivered to site. The erection team then installed the steel frame, ensuring every component was precisely aligned, leveled, and signed off to meet the highest commercial construction standards.
Despite the challenges of working on a live golf course site, we successfully completed the project on schedule, ensuring the client’s satisfaction and delivering a high-quality structure that will serve the club for years to come.
